Financial Times „European Business School Ranking“: WU auf Platz 41

04/12/2023

In the 2023 Financial Times European Business School Ranking, WU placed 41st out of 90 leading European business schools ranked this year, up two notches from last year’s result. The international experience of WU’s graduates, their excellent entry-level salaries, and their success on the (inter)national job market are the key factors that once again secured WU a top position in this year’s ranking.

In order to be considered for the Financial Times rankings, a university or business school must, among other things, hold an accreditation from EQUIS or AACSB. The European Business School Ranking is based on the results of five selected sub-rankings. The number of individual sub-rankings a university participates in influences the end result. WU only participates in two relevant program rankings, the global Masters in Management ranking (24th out of 100 programs ranked) and the global Executive MBA ranking (45th out of 100 programs).

Graduates benefit from good ranking results

What makes WU stand out in the two sub-rankings is the international experience of its students, as well as the career progress and excellent entry-level salaries of its alumni. Student exchange programs and international internships are an integral part of WU’s Executive MBA and Master’s in International Management programs. This is one of the reasons why graduates of these programs are much sought after in the job market and, on average, earn very attractive salaries. As WU Rector Rupert Sausgruber points out, “The Financial Times rankings are very important for business universities, because the schools ranked are among the best in Europe. But first and foremost, it’s our students and alumni who benefit from our good ranking results. Because – especially in the international job market – it’s not only what you studied that counts, but also the reputation and standing of the university where you studied.”

As in the previous year, HEC Paris remains in first place, followed by the London Business School.
