WU Research Group Meeting

Digital platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Amazon, Airbnb and Uber are driving factors of economic, technical and social development. By creating a network between individuals and resources, they multiply the possibilities of exchanging goods and services, pave the way for new (often hybrid) constellations between providers and users and open up new markets. At the same time, their disruptive business models displace established institutions and intermediaries, so that market structures and value chains are profoundly changed. Therefore, digital platforms pose diverse challenges to our economic, social and legal systems.Against this background, the WU Research Group Meeting "Legal Implications of the Platform Economy" is dedicated to analysing and discussing the legal challenges of the advancing Platform Economy.
