Important Dates for WU students
Online Infosession (for WU students): January 21, 2021, 12 noon -> slides ISU Infosession 2021
Application period (for WU students): March 2, 2 p.m. - March 11, 2021, 12 noon via the Online Student Services (OSS)
Admission decision (for WU students): All applicants who complete the online application process on time will be informed about the outcome of their application via email after the Easter holidays, but not later than April 16, 2021. The official acceptance email will include further instructions on the program and course allocations. Allocation of program and courses: During the online application process, students are asked to rank the available program offers and courses according to their preferences. Please note that there is no guarantee getting a spot that corresponds to the first preference. We try our best though to accommodate students' preferences, but due to the limited number of spots this is not always possible.
You can apply for an International Summer University as soon as you have completed courses worth at least 38 ECTS credits (excl. free electives).
You can check online if you fulfill the application requirements. To do so, please log in with your WU username and password.
Enrollment in a master’s program at WU.
Application procedures and selection criteria for ISUs organized by WU and CUHK / SMU Summer Programmes
Step 1: Log in to the Online Student Services (OSS) with your WU student ID number. Enter all the relevant information on your preferences, contact details, and degree program in the application form and submit it.
Step 2: Upload your application documents. Please note that you have to upload two motivation letters if you stated two preferences. Read the data protection statement and submit your application.
Step 3: Pre-selection for the respective International Summer University by the WU selection team based on your application documents.
Please note that the CUHK and SMU admission decisions are based on the application documents only.
Step 4: Invitation to small group interviews for all ISUs (in 2021: only applicable for the 1st Porto ISU) in March based on the pre-selection by the WU selection team.
Step 5: The International Office will notify applicants whether their application was successful or not.
The following documents have to be submitted during the online application process. You can indicate up to 2 ISU preferences.
One motivation letter for each International Summer University (in English, max. 1 page, addressed to the academic team of the respective ISU or generally to “Dear ladies and gentlemen” or “Dear Sir/Madam”)
CV in English
Bachelor's transcript (applicable for Master's students only)
Please note that only PDF files can be uploaded.
SMU and CUHK Summer Programmes will be based on the uploaded application documents only (= no interviews).

Individual bachelor's program students (e.g. IBW/Chinese):
Students enrolled in individual bachelor’s programs generally do not have access to the online application tool for International Summer University programs. To gain access to the application tool, interested students have to send a request to firstname.lastname@example.org.
