ERSTE Foundation NGO Academy
The ERSTE Foundation NGO Academy was founded in 2013 to help strengthen the social sector in Central and South-Eastern Europe. It offers a range of high-quality capacity building programmes which aim at training executive managers and members of NGOs. By doing so, it supports the organisations themselves and indirectly also their stakeholders by transferring knowledge, imparting skills and helping them build up networks. Furthermore, the academy assists them in tackling existing and future challenges in their sectors. The ERSTE Foundation NGO Academy offers two programmes, which are conceptualized, designed and implemented in a cooperation between the WU Vienna and ERSTE Foundation: the Social Innovation and Management Programme and the Regional Programme. The programmes are independent of each other, differ in their set-up and target persons in different management positions. However, both are focused on building up capacities for organizational development of nonprofit organisations focusing on the creation of new resources, implementation strategies through projects and the ability of sustaining success. They are offered to a pre-defined group of non-profit organisations being located in 13 countries of Central and South-Eastern Europe. With the Social Innovation and Management Programme, being a constitutive, three-module programme that takes places in English in Vienna, and the Regional Programme, consisting of individual workshops in six European languages, the ERSTE Foundation NGO Academy is currently one of the most comprehensive capacity building opportunities for nonprofit organisations in the 13 countries of Central and South-Eastern Europe that are served.
