Wolfgang Schildorfer

Wolfgang Schildorfer is a senior researcher with HiTec Marketing, a non-profit think tank, and lecturer in marketing of high-tech innovation at the Institute for Marketing Management, WU Vienna. He also teaches at the Vienna University of Technology, Campus02 University of Applied Sciences in Graz and the WU Executive Academy. He received his doctoral degree from WU Vienna in 2012 (Topic of the thesis: Impact of R&D projects).

Before joining HiTec Marketing in 2007, Wolfgang worked with Austria's largest telecommunication provider. Later, he founded a company that specialized in exploring new business models for various telecom and internet services. He also led a promotion agency specializing in integrated communication.

Wolfgang Schildorfer currently works on two international research projects: Cross Border HiTec Center (www.hitechcentrum.eu), for which he has developed a cross-border course format on innovation management (Slovakia and Austria) and REALITY (www.fromvisionstoreality.sk). The goal of the latter is to improve the cooperation between six European universities and a Mexican university as well as businesses in both countries.

In his research, he is interested in innovation topics (open innovation, radical innovation, and community-based innovation), technology markets, social networks, business models, and elderly citizen and silver markets. He has served as a reviewer for various European funding programmes (2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014).
