Self and identity
I am Assistant Professor at the Department of Marketing at WU Wienna. I hold a PhD in Psychology from Jacobs University in Bremen (funded by a stipend from the German Research Foundation). I have studied Psychology (BSc, Hons) and Organizational and Economic Psychology (MSc) at Panteion University in Athens. I have also worked several years in vocational training, marketing, and market research with a focus on FMCGs. Before joining WU Vienna, I was Postdoctoral Researcher and Lecturer at the University of Cologne and Visiting Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University. My research interests lie in the field of consumer psychology. Specifically, I am interested in the psychological meaning of consumer choices and the role of self and identity in consumer behavior (e.g., self-expression, authenticity, maximizing, and self-control). I have published my work in renowned international journals, such as Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, European Journal of Social Psychology, Marketing Letters, Psychology & Marketing, Journal of Consumer Behaviour, Personality and Individual Differences, Motivation and Emotion, and Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology. My research has been featured as Editor's Choice in Science and has also been covered by various media outlets, such as Der Standard, Die Presse, etc.
