Possession, Ownership and Property (POP) Collection – Ceremonial Opening

21. April 2022

When do you call something “mine”? What does it take for people to feel ownership for their work, a brand, an organization, or even their country? Is there a relationship between happiness and ownership? The concepts of possession, ownership and property play a fundamental role for human behavior, social interactions and economic transactions and have been studied by various disciplines.

Some of the most important works on the topics of Possession, Ownership and Property (POP) have now been compiled by the Institute for Marketing & Consumer Research in an internationally unique collection, the POP Collection of the WU Library.

After preliminary remarks by Vice-Rector Tatjana Oppitz, Michael Katzmayr (WU Library) and Prof. Bernadette Kamleitner (Institute for Marketing & Consumer Research), international researchers discussed the significance of the topic from different disciplines in a video contribution.
