Abstract

Business process simulation (BPS) refers to the imitation of business process behavior through the use of a simulation model. In my research, I developed some techniques to support the construction of a business process simulation model using event logs. More specifically, I focus on entity arrival, the phenomenon of batch processing and resource schedules. In this talk, I will give an overview of my work on these topics. Moreover, I will sketch the research challenges ahead. It is useful to know that the developed techniques can also be useful to support business process modeling in general.
