Abstract

This talk provides an overview on current research in the area of processmanagement at the Chair for Databases and Information Systems at the University ofBayreuth. Besides an insight into the general motivation and foundation of thisresearch the current major research threads are introduced. These are multiperspective, declarative process mining, understandability of (declarative) processmodels, and process model similarity matching.

Bio

Stefan Jablonski is Full Professor at the University of Bayreuth, Germany. Since 2006he is head of the Chair for Databases and Information Systems. From 1994 to 2005he was heading as Full Professor the Research Group on Data and ProcessIntegration Systems at the University of Erlangen-Nuernberg. From 1991 to 1994 hewas managing a Research Group on Process Management at the Digital Equipment,Activity Management Group, Palo Alto, USA and Campusbased Engineering Center,Karlsruhe.

Stefan Jablonski holds a Doctoral Degree (Dr.-Ing.) in Engineering Science from theUniversity of Erlangen-Nuernberg. He also holds a Diploma Degree in ComputerScience from this university.

Stefan Jablonski’s research focus lies firstly on process management. Therein, theconceptual foundation of process management, modeling and agile processesexecution and mining build the current core areas. His second research focus lies onspecific areas of Data Science. In the focus of this research lies the question of howto enrich in-house data (warehouses) with public data (e.g. social media data).
