Abstract 

In this talk we'll take a guided tour along the life cycle of data, starting with sensor data, through data management and culminating in collecting insights from data. This tour uses data from a Boston's cancer institute and illustrates the benefits of process mining for analyzing time-dependent data.

Bio 

Avigdor Gal is a Professor at the Technion -- Israel Institute of Technology. His research focuses on effective methods of integrating data from multiple and diverse sources, which affect the way businesses and consumers seek information over the Internet. Prof. Gal has published about 150 papers in leading professional journals, conferences, and books. He serves in various editorial capacities for periodicals and has helped organize professional workshops and conferences (e.g., BPM and DEBS) nearly every year since 1998.
