The Institute for Information Management and Control is currently inviting applications for a 20 hours/week Teaching and Research Assistant postion (employee subject to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Staff - Angestellte/r gemäß Kollektivvertrag für die Arbeitnehmer/innen der Universitäten; minimum gross monthly salary, paid 14 times per year: Euro 1,000.80). This employee position will be limited to a period of two years, starting on August 1, 2018 (commencement date subject to change).

Pursuant to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, only students who have not yet completed a master or diploma degree program can be employed. Please note that under the terms of the WU personnel development plan, student employee positions are limited to an employment period of not more than two years.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be

  • supporting operative tasks at the Institute; 

  • assisting current research projects in the area of Information Management and Control (e.g., helping with literature reviews, data collection, interview transcriptions, data preparation, and editing research papers);

  • and cultivating practice and alumni contacts.

We offer the possibility to scientifically engage with interesting and current research topics related to business digitalization, in addition to flexible working hours, and a pleasant and friendly working atmosphere. Your Profile:

The candidates must

  • pursuing an ongoing university degree (master level or an equivalent) in information systems, business administration, informatics/computer science, mathematics, psychology, sociology, or related disciplines with at least 2 terms until graduation 

  • have a demonstrated interest in supporting the above research areas and activities - have achieved very good university grades 

  • be highly proficient in spoken and written English

  • possess very good communication skills

  • be effective in independently organizing and structuring tasks

  • possess a strong analytical mind 

  • have strong MS Office user skills with an emphasis on Excel 

  • have experience in working with statistical software (e.g. SPSS, R)

Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience in empirical fieldwork, coding or software programming. An international orientation, professional certifications recognized by industry, and German language proficiency are further advantages but no mandatory requirements.
