Pos­i­tion at IIB, other pos­i­tions and aca­demic ca­reer

Jan joined the In­sti­tute for In­ter­na­tional Busi­ness as a Re­search and Teach­ing As­so­ci­ate/PhD Stu­dent in Septem­ber 2016. He is a CEMS gradu­ate from Vi­enna Uni­versity of Eco­nom­ics and Busi­ness (WU Vi­enna) and Uni­versity of Sydney. Be­fore that, he com­pleted a dual study pro­gram and ob­tained his Bach­elor’s de­gree in In­ter­na­tional Busi­ness Ad­min­is­tra­tion from Hoch­schule Lud­wig­shafen. As part of his Bach­elor’s de­gree, Jan joined BASF for three years and worked in a vari­ety of busi­ness areas both in Ger­many and Chile. Dur­ing his Mas­ter’s stud­ies, he com­pleted two con­sult­ing in­tern­ships with A.T. Kear­ney as well as Horváth & Part­ners and did several con­sult­ing pro­jects for mul­tina­tional cor­por­a­tions as part of his stud­ies. In his leis­ure time, he likes trav­el­ling, mo­tor­s­ports, table ten­nis and bad­min­ton.

Re­search in­terest

Jan’s re­search in­terests are centered on the role headquar­ters play in large or­gan­iz­a­tions and how they in­ter­act with sub­si­di­ar­ies, among oth­ers. Fur­ther­more, he is in­ter­ested in ana­lyt­ics as well as di­git­iz­a­tion and in how they in­flu­ence the mul­tina­tional headquar­ter­s-sub­si­di­ary re­la­tion­ships.
