About International Business
A short overview of what we actually teach and research.
International Business (IB) has increasingly gained importance during the recent past and is expected to continue doing so in the future. Driven by globalization and technological developments as well as political implications that facilitate cross-border activities, businesses are trying to cash in on these trends by seeking profits internationally. From an academic point of view, the study of IB aims at better understanding the implicated processes such as market entry strategies, global strategic management, global organization, international marketing, cross-cultural management and international HR-management. Research at the Institute for International Business addresses such operations in further detail, for example the role of regional headquarters for MNC performance, drivers and barriers of internationalization processes, financial aspects in the strategy of the MNC, or sustainable global leadership.
