Work at IfU, previous experience and academic profile
Leonard is a research and teaching associate and joined the Institute for Strategy and Managerial Accounting (IfU) in October 2019.
Prior to joining IfU, Leonard worked two years as a strategy consultant for Siemens Management Consulting, working on digitalization topics spanning Artificial Intelligence, IoT, digital go-to-market and data strategy across multiple business and support functions such as factory automation, smart cities, human resources and corporate strategy.
Leonard obtained his Master in International Business (CEMS) from Stockholm School of Economics where he worked with the media conglomerate Modern Times Group (MTG) on his thesis “Organization ambidexterity at MTG – balancing exploration and exploitation in the context of digital transformation”.
For his Bachelor in International Business, Leonard studied at Maastricht University where he majored in accounting and worked on his research thesis “Management control system design: Conditional interdependencies between behavioral constraints, incentives and employee selection”
Leonard’s research interests lie in the field of management control systems and performance measurement of digital business models and transformation initiatives. Particularly, he is interested in the impact of management control systems on the success of multi-sided platform business models and the application of Artificial Intelligence in management control.
