Hermann Frank is director of the Rese­arch Insti­tute for Family Busi­ness and assis­tant director of the Insti­tute for Small Busi­ness Manage­ment and Entre­pre­neurship. Further­more, he is visiting professor at the Witten Insti­tute for Family Busi­ness, Univer­sity Witten/Herdecke (Germany). After his habi­li­ta­tion he was invited for the entre­pre­neurship profes­sor­ship at the Univer­sity of Dort­mund/Germany and first choice for the profes­sor­ship for Inno­va­tion Manage­ment at the Univer­sity for Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna. Hermann Frank was visiting professor in 1996 at the Univer­sity of Halm­stad in Sweden, as well as in 2000 at the Univer­sity of Udine in Italy. From 2000 to 2006 he taught Entre­pre­neurship at the “Donau­uni­ver­sität Krems” (MBA). Addi­tio­nally, Hermann Frank gained prac­tical expe­ri­ence in the textile industry and he still inten­si­vely exch­anges expe­ri­ences with prac­ti­tio­ners, mainly from leading Austrian family busi­nesses. He is asso­ciate editor of the Journal of Small Busi­ness Manage­ment and member of the edito­rial boards of Entre­pre­neurship and Regional Deve­lop­ment and the Journal of Small Busi­ness and Enter­prise Deve­lop­ment. Since winter­term 12/13 he is visiting professor for Family Busi­ness Manage­ment at Private Univer­sity Witten/Herdecke, Germany.

Hermann Frank received the Rudolf Sallinger Award for his rese­arch and numerous journal publi­ca­tions were given awards by WU Vienna.
