Mag. Albrecht Karlusch MBA

Albrecht Karlusch is a Rese­arch and Teaching Assis­tant at the Insti­tute for Entre­pre­neurship and Inno­va­tion at Vienna Univer­sity of Econo­mics and Busi­ness. In rese­arch, he mainly focuses on learning aspects in the context of new social media pheno­mena. Further­more he is inte­rested in new tech­no­lo­gies, busi­ness model­ling and finan­cing.

Before joining E&I team in April 2014, he gained several academic and prac­tical expe­ri­ences in diffe­rent roles. After he completed his studies in econo­mics and computer science at Vienna Univer­sity of Tech­no­logy he worked as lecturer at Univer­sity of Vienna and as consul­tant in diffe­rent indus­tries for several years. He completed his MBA in Entre­pre­neurship and Inno­va­tion at Danube Univer­sity Krems and Hong Kong Univer­sity of Science & Tech­no­logy. He shared his know­ledge in a number of guest lectures at diffe­rent univer­si­ties. In 2008 he started his entre­pre­neu­rial career and became founder and CEO of a startup for which he attracted several millions Euro in public, private and ventu­re-­ca­pital fundings. He accom­pa­nied the product deve­lop­ment until start of series-­pro­duc­tion and esta­blished inter­na­tional coope­ra­tion for sales activi­ties in Europe and USA. After more than six years as an entre­pre­neur he decided to switch back into the academic sector to share his prac­tical expe­ri­ences and work on his doctoral thesis.
