The life and career of a pioneering woman

This Event is organized by the the team of the Vice-Rector for Research and Human Resources

In this performance by the portraittheater theater troupe (directed by Sandra Schüddekopf), actor Anita Zieher plays the pioneering woman economist Margarethe Ottillinger (1919–1992), retracing Ottillinger’s life from her PhD graduation at the University of World Trade and her detention in a Russian prison camp to her work as a member of the board of OMV. We will be addressing the following questions: What is Ottillinger’s historical significance? What is the key to success for women executives? What are the obstacles? Were the obstacles Ottillinger faced in her time really that different from those women are facing today?

Participants and panelists:

Anita Zieher, actor and theater director

Regina Prehofer, Member of the Supervisory Boards of Wienerberger, AT&S and Spar

Stefan Karner, Ottillinger’s biographer and former Head of the Department of Economic, Social and Business History, University of Graz
