In 2011 Katharina Mader started her postdoctoral position at the institute. Before that she was a project assistant and lecturer at the institute as well as at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz and the University of Klagenfurt. While working on her dissertation, she was employed at the women's department and the municipal administration of the city council of Vienna. She has received numerous prizes for her research, including the Gabriele Possanner Prize, the 16th Wiener Frauen Prize and the Käthe Leichter Prize. In 2020 she is also associated as a Senior Fellow at the University of Graz as part of the Elisabeth List Fellowship. Her main research interests are feminist economics, care economics and unpaid work as well as gender budgeting and gender-responsive economic policy.
