Dr. Thomas O. Zörner, BA
I am an assistant professor in macroeconomics with research interests in macroeconometrics, credit and business cycles, and non-linear models in economics.
I hold a PhD in Economics, an MSc in Economics (Major: Mathematical Track), a BSc in Business, Economics and Social Sciences (Major: Economics), a BA in Anthropology and was the winner of the Young Economist Award (2018) by the Austrian Economic Association (NOeG).
Prior to this position, I was Research Associate at the Institute of International Economics and Development on a project, funded by the Austrian National Bank (OeNB) about heterogeneous expectations in macroeconomic models. Since 2018, I am principle investigator for a project about forecasting exchange rates in a unified econometric framework. Moreover, I am a consultant for the United Nations Industrial Organisation (UNIDO) and visiting researcher at the Masaryk University (Brno, Czech Republic).
