WU Professor Renate Meyer elected to FWF Supervisory Board

09/06/2017

During the last Assembly of Delegates of the Austrian Science Fund (FWF), WU Professor Renate Meyer was formally elected to the FWF Supervisory Board. WU and the FWF congratulate Professor Meyer on her new position.

Renate Meyer has been head of WU’s Institute for Organization Studies since 2013, and, together with WU Professor Verena Madner, she has been co-heading the Research Institute for Urban Management and Governance since 2010. From 2010 to 2014, Renate Meyer also served as head of the Institute for Public Management. She is a visiting professor at the Copenhagen Business School and, among several other functions, she is a member of the Board of European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS).

Management concepts from an organization studies perspective

Renate Meyer’s research activities at WU focus on organizational theory, steering structures and mechanisms, public sector management, and new institutionalism, with particular emphasis on the topic of management concepts. Together with her team, she looks at how management concepts and ideas are created, how they develop, and why they change over time or disappear again. In her new capacity as member of the FWF Supervisory Board, Renate Meyer replaces WU Professor Engelbert Dockner, who passed away in April 2017.
