WU Professor Renate Meyer elected to FWF Supervisory Board

Dur­ing the last Assembly of Deleg­ates of the Aus­trian Science Fund (FWF), WU Pro­fessor Ren­ate Meyer was form­ally elec­ted to the FWF Su­per­vis­ory Board. WU and the FWF con­grat­u­late Pro­fessor Meyer on her new pos­i­tion.

Ren­ate Meyer has been head of WU’s In­sti­tute for Or­gan­iz­a­tion Stud­ies since 2013, and, to­gether with WU Pro­fessor Ver­ena Mad­ner, she has been co-­head­ing the Re­search In­sti­tute for Urban Man­age­ment and Gov­ernance since 2010. From 2010 to 2014, Ren­ate Meyer also served as head of the In­sti­tute for Pub­lic Man­age­ment. She is a vis­it­ing pro­fessor at the Copen­ha­gen Busi­ness School and, among several other func­tions, she is a mem­ber of the Board of European Group for Or­gan­iz­a­tional Stud­ies (EGOS).

Man­age­ment con­cepts from an or­gan­iz­a­tion stud­ies per­spect­ive

Ren­ate Meyer’s re­search activ­it­ies at WU fo­cus on or­gan­iz­a­tional the­ory, steer­ing struc­tures and mech­an­isms, pub­lic sector man­age­ment, and new in­sti­tu­tion­al­ism, with par­tic­u­lar em­phasis on the topic of man­age­ment con­cepts. To­gether with her team, she looks at how man­age­ment con­cepts and ideas are cre­ated, how they develop, and why they change over time or dis­ap­pear again. In her new ca­pa­city as mem­ber of the FWF Su­per­vis­ory Board, Ren­ate Meyer re­places WU Pro­fessor En­gel­bert Dock­ner, who passed away in April 2017.
