Symposium on "Place-based Development - Past and Future"
Walter B. Stöhr was one of the inspiring voices of alternative regional development in the 1970s and 1980s. His critique of top-down approaches as well as the emphasis on endogenous development potentials inspired strategies of self-reliance in peripheral regions as well as policies of regional innovation systems. The Symposium will critically reflect on the intellectual heritage of Walter B. Stöhr.
