The coronavirus pandemic is not just a public health crisis, it is also an economic crisis with far-reaching effects. Lockdowns, curfews, and bottlenecks in production and delivery emptied the coffers of many companies. For some, bankruptcy is the only option. Is Austria’s bankruptcy law well equipped to handle this insolvency wave? Where are its limits? We will be discussing current developments and perspectives in Austrian bankruptcy law in the context of the international discourse.
