The Illinois International Accounting Symposium started in 1967 at the University of Illinois with the goal of fostering accounting research in international settings. Since 2003, the symposium has been held abroad in collaboration with other universities to help benefit by the talents of scholars in different regions of the world.

The Symposium has three objectives: (a) improving the quality of research through an in-depth discussion of ten papers, (b) learning additional research skills, and (c) helping to generate new ideas.

The 2023 symposium will have the theme of “Application of Big Data in International Accounting Research.” However, innovative papers on other subjects will also be welcome.

PhD Consortium

We will also be holding a doctoral consortium on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, to assist up to 25 PhD students in the development of their dissertations.
