DIBT Doctorate Workshop: "Tax Treaty Arbitration", Rust, 5 July 2018

PhD can­did­ates are in­vited to par­ti­cip­ate in the DIBT Doc­tor­ate Work­shop re­lated to the con­fer­ence “Tax Treaty Ar­bit­ra­tion”.  

The Doc­tor­ate Work­shop will be held in Rust, Bur­gen­land, on Thursday 5 July, 2018, from 15:00 to 18:00 and will be or­gan­ized by the In­sti­tute for Aus­trian and In­ter­na­tional Tax Law Vi­enna in co­oper­a­tion with the Doc­toral Pro­gram for In­ter­na­tional Busi­ness Tax­a­tion and the WU Global Tax Policy Center, with friendly sup­port of the Chris­tian Dop­pler Re­search As­so­ci­ation and the In­ter­na­tional Fis­cal As­so­ci­ation (IFA), Aus­trian Branch (Wolfgang Gassner Re­search Fund for In­ter­na­tional Tax Law).

The DIBT Doc­tor­ate Work­shop is an op­por­tun­ity for doc­toral stu­dents who are writ­ing their thesis in this area to give a short present­a­tion on the cur­rent status of their work  and their pre­lim­in­ary re­search res­ults. After each present­a­tion one of the DIBT col­legi­ates will com­ment on the PhD pro­ject of the speaker (from the point of view of his or her dis­cip­line). Then the pro­ject will be dis­cussed amongst the stu­dents and pro­fess­ors who are already present in Rust.

If you are a PhD can­did­ate wish­ing to ap­ply, please sub­mit the ap­plic­a­tion form to­gether with your CV, re­search out­line (and other in­form­a­tion asked for in the ques­tion­naire below) and pre­lim­in­ary table of con­tents (in Eng­lish please) by email to renee.pes­ by 15th March 2018. If you know someone else who might be in the tar­get group and might be in­ter­ested in ap­ply­ing, please spread the word and en­cour­age them to ap­ply!

The ap­plic­a­tion pro­cess is com­pet­it­ive, and those who are se­lec­ted by the com­mit­tee will be ad­mit­ted to par­ti­cip­ate in the doc­tor­ate work­shop and the con­fer­ence for free. In ex­cep­tional cir­cum­stances, fin­an­cial sup­port for travel and/or ac­com­mod­a­tion could be possible (but has to be ne­go­ti­ated in­di­vidu­ally).  Please read more about the con­fer­ence HERE.
