CBS-HSG-WU Online Course Initiative

Would you like to gain international experience without leaving home? Then the CBS-HSG-WU online course initiative might be just right for you!

Together with our partner universities Copenhagen Business School (CBS) and the University of St. Gallen (HSG), we first launched the online course initiative in winter semester 2020/21. In summer semester 2021, the initiative will take place again. Each institution offers a range of online courses that are open to a limited number of students from all three universities. You will thus be part of an international classroom, can benefit from international learning opportunities and are able to exchange ideas with students from different countries.

Course offer (Bachelor)

In summer 2021, CBS and HSG offer the following courses for Bachelor's students:

Credit transfer

At the end of your virtual exchange, you will receive an official transcript of records which you will need for the credit transfer process at WU.

ForBachelor's students enrolled in the program Business, Economics and Social Sciences, all bachelor-level courses can be accredited as free electives (freie Wahlfächer). For BBE students, all bachelor-level courses can be accredited as BBE electives.

For students majoring in International Business Administration (IBW), business-related courses are eligible for the IBW international experience. Please be aware of the following regulations:

  • BaWiSo 19 students graduating before October 1, 2021 and BaWiSo 12 students: credits completed as part of the initiative are eligible for the IBW international experience

  • BaWiSo 19 students graduating after October 1, 2021: if you have completed at least 8 ECTS within the initiative, then this counts as mobility and the IBW international experience is considered completed according to the new BaWiSo 19 curriculum.

Please note that these are special regulations due to COVID-19 and only apply for courses taken within the ENGAGE.EU Online Exchange Initiative and the CBS-HSG-WU Online Course Initiative in winter semester 2020/21, summer semester 2021 and winter semester 2021/22.

Business courses worth at least 4 ECTS credits can also be transferred as international courses / international elective.

If you want to transfer your credits, note that the online course needs to be graded and that a pass/fail is not sufficient!

For all other credit transfers on Bachelor’s and Master’s level, please contact our colleagues at the Study Service Center: course.abroad@wu.ac.at. When contacting them, include a course description and name the WU study plan item you wish the credits to be transferred to.
