How to apply?
Applications can be submitted via the Online Student Services (OSS). One letter of motivation (English) per preference and a CV are required. If applying for a grant, an additional letter of motivation is needed.
When to apply?

Can I apply for more than one ISP at the same time?
When filling in the online application form, you can apply for up to two preferences.
Can master’s students also apply?
Please note that the ISPs abroad are usually designed for bachelor's students. Students on master's level may apply and may be allocated for the program if a sufficient number of spots are available.
Can individual bachelor's program students (e.g. IBW Chinese) also apply?
Yes, but students enrolled in individual bachelor’s programs generally do not have access to the online application tool for International Short Programs. To gain access to the application tool, interested students have to send a request to firstname.lastname@example.org

If the application requirements are fulfilled, business law students can apply via the Online Student Services (OSS).
Do I have to fill in the online form twice for my two preferences?
No, you only have to fill in the online application form once. However, you have to upload two separate letters of motivation.
Do I need a proof of English?
No, the required English language skills will be verified based on your grade transcript and the group interviews.
Are my preferences treated equally during the application process?
You may be invited to group interviews for one, both, or none of your given preferences. The ranking of your preferences will be taken into account in the final stage of the selection process.
What are the chances of being selected for an ISP
The number of applications and the number of spots available may change every year. Hence, there is no striaghtforward answer to this question. However, as a general rule, we want as many students as possible to be able to participate in one of our ISPs and are doing our best to allocate the available spots accordingly.
What are the selection criteria? Do grades matter?
Your grades and your academic progress are part of the selection criteria. Other factors, such as your motivation, your interest in the ISP region, your English skills, your teamwork skills and intercultural competence and the quality of your application documents will also be considered. Another important aspect is your performance during the group interview (if applicable).
I am an International Business Administration student. Will I be given preference during the application process?
Students of all majors will be treated equally.
Do you have any tips for writing the letter of motivation?
Your letter of motivation (and your CV) should be written in English and should not exceed one DIN-A4 page. For each of your two preferences, you have to write a separate letter of motivation. Address your letter of motivation to the academic team of the respective ISP or use a general form of address, such as “Dear ladies and gentlemen” or “Dear Sir/Madam.”
Please make sure your application documents do not include any spelling or grammar mistakes.
For details on how to write your letter of motivation or design your CV, workshops organized by the International Office and information provided by the ZBP Career Center could be useful as well.
