Swiss-European Mobility Program (exchange semester)
If you are allocated an exchange place in Switzerland, you can apply for a mobility grant within the framework of the Swiss-European Mobility Program (SEMP).
After your nomination by WU, the partner university will contact you directly by email.
You have to fill out and sign a declaration of commitment. Upload it via the Mobility Online System together with your completed Learning Agreement.
Further information, deadlines, and documents can be found in the Mobility Online System.
The grant is provided directly by the respective Swiss university, which is also in charge of managing the administration. This includes payout of the grant and providing additional information.
The grant amounts to CHF 360 per month (equals approx. €330 per month).
The stay abroad should not lead to a loss of study time ("no loss of progress" principle). It is therefore recommended to take courses to the extent of 30 ECTS credits per semester.
The minimum requirement for the grant is lower and depends on the respective host university (e.g. St. Gallen 16 ECTS credits, Zurich 12 ECTS credits).
For proof of academic achievement, the student is required to have courses taken abroad recognized at WU.
Students with special needs
Students with special needs who have applied for the SEMP grant in due time can also apply for SEMP Special Needs Funding.
For details, please ask your respective host university about this type of additional funding.
