IBW - Internship Abroad
Information for students enrolled in BaWiSo 2012
Only one internship abroad can be confirmed as part of the IBW international experience. Alongside the internship, an Internship Class must be completed. Combining these two elements, 8 ECTS credits of the IBW international experience can be fulfilled. In addition, two different International Short Programs must be attended for a total of 16 ECTS credits (8 ECTS credits each). Detailed information on all possible combination options can be found here.
What are the criteria that an internship abroad must meet?
The internship abroad must take place outside of Austria. In addition, it cannot be completed in the country of the student's citizenship.
A minimum duration of 2 months without interruption and a study-related full-time activity is required. It is recommended that the internship be completed during the summer months.
Required academic performance:
The PI "International Business Administration: Internship Class" (4 ECTS credits) must be taken in the winter semester after your internship. Prior to the internship, you have to participate in a kick-off meeting and you have to obtain a pre-approval of the internship. The form for the pre-approval of the internship as well as further details can be found here. Credits from the Internship Class (4 ECTS) can be transferred as free electives.
Confirmation of IBW international experience: The confirmation of the internship is done by Prof. Edith Littich - together with the entry of the grade from the Internship Class. Through the internship and the Internship Class, one third of the IBW international experience (8 ECTS credits) can be completed.
