IBW - International Short Programs (ISPs)
Information for students enrolled in BaWiSo 2019 (valid from October 1, 2021)
You have the possibility to fulfill the IBW international experience by successfully completing international short programs (e.g. Summer University).
This includes:
Successful participation in an International Short Program abroad organized by WU:
Every year, together with partner universities abroad, WU organizes short programs for bachelor’s students. For more information, please visit our website. Courses at WU's International Short Programs are also eligible for credit transfer towards curriculum-specific modules. Completion of the IBW international experience in the context of an ISP abroad is automatically registered by the International Office upon successful completion.Successful participation in Short Programs at WU partner universities:
You can also complete the IBW international experience through a Short Program at a WU partner university. The list of suitable programs is announced annually at the beginning of the summer semester on the WU International Office website. Please note that completion of programs that are not listed cannot be confirmed for the IBW international experience. In order for the international experience to be registered, please contact the International Office (spwu@wu.ac.at) after successful completion with the transcript/certificate of the partner university.Short Program Central Europe Connect:

Information for students enrolled in BaWiSo 2023
For the subject "International Experience" (20 ECTS credits), you can complete credits through International Short Programs (ISPs).
What do I have to consider?
The International Short Program (ISP) must take place outside of Austria and outside of the student's home country. Achievements abroad must be related to business and/or economics and must be graded.
In order to use International Short Program (ISP) for the "International Experience", achievements completed abroad must be recognized for your studies at WU.

Can I complete more than one ISP?
It is possible to complete multiple International Short Programs. Please keep in mind that you must apply for each program. If other applicants have not yet completed International Short Programs, they may be prioritized.
Which International Short Programs are eligible?
For the "International Experience", you can useWU International Short Programs abroad or similar short programs of WU partner universities.
WU International Short Programs abroad are organized by WU in close cooperation with partner universities. You can find an overview on this website.
Other short programs of WU partner universities can also be used (see website).
How can I complete the subject "International Experience"?
It is possible to use accumulated ECTS credits from various exchange programs. You can complete remaining ECTS credits with the help of a semester abroad, further International Short Programs (ISP), an internship abroad, or a corresponding online offer.
In addition to online offerings, networks such as ENAGE.EU offer other formats within which you can gain experience and ECTS credits.
