New student ID numbers

As of the 2017/18 winter semester student ID numbers will consist of 8 rather than 7 digits.

Students who first enrolled in the 2017/18 winter semester automatically received an 8-digit student ID number. This number starts with “1”, “2”, or “3” (rather than with the year of enrolment as was the case with the 7-digit numbers).

Students who enrolled before the 2017/18 winter semester will keep their student ID number. However, the number will be turned into an 8-digit number by placing a "0" (zero) at the beginning of the number.

Examples:

  • Former student ID number: 1212345 > new student ID number: 01212345

  • Former student ID number: 0712345 > new student ID number: 00712345

In WU’s central online services, you will already see your new 8-digit student ID number.

When filling in an exam answer sheet, please make sure you use your new 8-digit student ID number! Example of a new multiple-choice answer sheet:

Mentoring Program for Academic Writing – for big and small writing projects during your studies

Are you planning to write a paper and do not know where to start? Are you struggling with procrastination or suffering from writer’s block?

WU’s Mentoring Program for Academic Writing helps bachelor’s students improve their writing skills by focussing on the writing process rather the finished product.

You will learn strategies to guide you through various writing phases, and try out a number of creative writing methods. In addition, hands-on exercises and (peer) feedback will also contribute to improving your writing skills.

Participants in the program will be part of a small group of bachelor’s students led by two writing mentors. With the help of your mentors, you will be working on a writing project and expand your writing skills. These skills will not only prove useful for your studies but also for your future career.

Application deadline: October 10, 2017

Application deadlines for WU’s English-taught master’s programs

We are now accepting applications for our English-taught master’s programs starting in the 2018/19 winter semester.

At the time of application, students do not need a completed bachelor’s program. To apply, please use our online application tool.

WU uses a rolling admission system, which means that there are three so-called “priority deadlines”:

  • Priority deadline I: October 8, 2017

  • Priority deadline II: January 8, 2018

  • Priority deadline III: March 8, 2018

If you apply by October 8, 2017, we will let you know by Christmas whether you have been accepted by the program of your choice. The earlier you apply, the earlier you will be notified of the status of your application.

Please note that for the International Management/CEMS program, only the first two priority deadlines apply. Last chance to apply: January 8, 2018.

Please check the program-specific admission requirements and procedures online.
