Take part in the Business Case Challenge 2022

[Translate to English:] Diverses

We invite you to transform your ideas into environmentally, socially and financially sustainable business models ("Business Cases for Future"). Innovation and sustainable change can only happen when ideas are transformed into business models! As in previous years, we offer both a beginner and an advanced case. In the beginner case you can submit your business ideas in the field of sustainability. In the advanced case we are looking for business models in the field of sustainable packaging solutions and circular economy in cooperation with our main sponsor Aluflexpack. In both cases you have to convince a jury of experts consisting of company representatives and WU professors of the ecological, social and financial value of your idea in the form of a presentation. In addition to the quality of the idea, the evidence-based analysis and the presentation are important award criteria. Participation is open to teams of up to 3 participants.

What is in for you?

The Business Case Challenge is not only an opportunity for you to help shape the future and present yourself to leading companies in Austria. Last but not least, attractive cash prizes, non-cash prizes and even internships are waiting for you after the submission deadline on May 01, 2022. For more information on participation and tasks, please visit the website. Follow us on Instagram. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at business-case@wu.ac.at.

Entrepreneurship Avenue 2022 kickoff

[Translate to English:] Diverses

Reconnect: More than 500 participants online and physically at this year's Entrepreneurship Avenue 2022 kickoff. Start your entrepreneurial journey now!

"Start. Fail. Repeat. Succeed." with these words Dr. Rudolf Dömötör, founder of Entrepreneurship Avenue, opened the 9th edition of Entrepreneurship Avenue on March 22nd 2022 at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. After two years in which events were predominantly online, Europe's largest student event series has arrived back in real life. Not disregarding the experiences of the last years, the whole event was streamed online, thanks to the support of WU TV. With positive results: around 500 participants took part in the event both offline and online. Among the registrations were 75 different universities from more than 50 nationalities.

A great success of the student-organized startup event. "Entrepreneurship is for everyone", says this year's Entrepreneurship Avenue team around the students Head Organizer 2022 Ralitsa Malinova and Selina Walter. The event series was launched in 2014 by SIMConnect and the Entrepreneurship Center Network (ECN), with the mission of providing a playground for entrepreneurial thinking and acting amongst students. The workshop series, called the labs, offer the opportunity to try out entrepreneurship first-hand in a safe environment from April 5th onwards. The highlight of Entrepreneurship Avenue, the Conference, offers the chance to network with the local and international startup scene.

"Successful startup ideas build upon the interdisciplinarity of the founding teams. That is why the cross-university network (ECN) wants to set these boundaries with a network of 25 universities in Austria. The Entrepreneurship Avenue is our flagship event, where we provide the environment for students to meet like-minded people from other academic backgrounds, and to network with potential co-founders and mentors," explain Monique Schlömmer and Johanna Wiesner, program managers of the ECN.

In addition to networking opportunities, the kickoff provided a number of different program points. Alexander Valtingojer (CEO and Co-Founder ofcoinpanion) and Hannah Wundsam (Managing Director at AustrianStartups) inspired the students during their keynotes and shed light on the topic: why founding is attractive and why exactly now is a good time to start. The evening was rounded off with the ECN Startup Pitch series. The presenting projects once again proved the slogan "entrepreneurship is for everyone". 8 universities from the ECN were represented: TU Wien i²c, FH Technikum Wien, FH Wiener Neustadt, FH Campus Wien, die Angewandte, WU Wien, Akademie der bildenden Künste and BOKU.

After the kick off is before the workshops. On April 5, Entrepreneurship Avenue 2022 already opens its interactive workshop series, called Labs. Here students can work on a startup idea and receive mentoring and pitch training from experienced experts. Registration for this event is still open at http://www.entrepreneurshipavenue.com.

The grand finale is the all-day conference on May 31 at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, where you will also have the opportunity to see the top 10 projects of the Lab series on stage as part of the "Pitch Awards". In addition, the day will be accompanied by (inter)national speakers, a Startup and Partner Fair as well as the opportunity to participate in workshops.
