For many years, WU has been awarding the Talenta prize to the authors of the most outstanding academic theses of the year. The award winners receive a certificate and a cash prize provided by the City of Vienna. Each year, a jury selects the three top bachelor’s and master’s theses from all nominations. The selection committee consists of:

  • three members of the Board of the Membership Association of WU Full Professors (Konvent)

  • one junior faculty representative

  • the Vice-Rector for Academic Programs and Student Affairs (Chair)

How can I nominate my master‘s thesis for the award?

Students cannot submit their master’s theses for the Talenta award directly. Each academic director holds an internal pre-selection procedure to decide which thesis should be nominated for the Talenta award. If you are interested in submitting your thesis for the award, please contact your supervisor so that your thesis can be considered for nomination.
