Astrid Pennerstorfer is associate professor at the Institute for Social Policy. Her research focus is the analysis of the social services sector, nonprofit organisations as providers of social services, and the intersection of nonprofit organisations and social policy.
Astrid holds a doctoral degree in economics, and has Magister degrees in commerce and sociology. Before joining the WU, she was Program Director of the master program “Social economy and social work” at FH Campus Wien. She is a member of the Association of Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA), and the International Society for Third Sector Research (ISTR).
