Regular Research Conferences

ESPAnet Austria organizes regular research conference to facilitate exchange and co-operation among social policy analysts in Austria as well as academics abroad, who conduct research on Austrian social policy (also in a comparative perspective). We welcome both, presentations in German and English.

The 5th ESPAnet Austria conference took place on September 14th, 2022 at the University of Vienna. It was organized by Karin Heitzmann, August Österle and Yuri Kazepov. Right after the 5th Annual ESPAnet Austria conference, from September 14th – 16th, 2022, the University of Vienna was hosting the 20th European ESPAnet conference, in which one track was dedicated to Austrian social policy (Austrian social policy between path dependency and innovation). During the 5th ESPAnet Austria conference,13 papers have been presented in 5 sessions. The detailed programme (only in German) is available here.

The 4th Annual ESPAnet Austria Conference took place from September 27th – 28th, 2021 at the University in Graz. In two days, 25 papers have been presented in 8 sessions. The conference was organized in memory of Prof. Margarete Kreimer, who dedicated her professional life to researching social and labour market policies, focusing on care and feminist economics. She was also member of the ESPAnet Austria board. We miss her dearly!

The 4th Annual ESPAnet Austria Conference at the University of Graz, which was scheduled to take place from April 16th-17th, 2020, had to be cancelled due to the corona virus outbreak. The detailed programme (only in German) is available here.

The 3rd Annual ESPAnet Austria Conference took place from April 25th – 26th, 2019 at the University in Innsbruck. During the two days, 41 papers have been presented in 12 sessions. The detailed programm (only in German) is available here.

The 2nd Annual ESPAnet Austria Conference took place from April 5th – 6th, 2018 at the University of Linz. During the two days, 28 papers have been presented in 8 sessions. The detailed programme (only in German) is available here.

The 1st Annual ESPAnet Austria Conference took place from April 20th – 21st, 2017 at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. During the two days, 41 papers have been presented in 14 sessions. The detailed programme (only in German) is available here.
