Our re­search and teach­ing activ­it­ies fo­cus on ser­vice-re­lated aspects of mar­ket­ing man­age­ment and ac­know­ledge re­cent changes in a dy­namic ser­vice land­scape. Many ser­vice in­dus­tries are be­ing rad­ic­ally trans­formed by ad­vances in in­form­a­tion tech­no­logy and in­ter­act­ive on­line me­dia. This on­go­ing devel­op­ment of­fers tre­mend­ous busi­ness op­por­tun­it­ies and makes ser­vice mar­ket­ing an ex­tremely ex­cit­ing and chal­len­ging field of study.

Our re­search is in­ter­dis­cip­lin­ary in nature with links to stat­ist­ics, eco­nom­ics, psy­cho­logy, and in­form­a­tion sys­tems. We typ­ic­ally use stat­ist­ical and ad­vanced mar­ket­ing science meth­ods to develop, re­fine, and ap­ply mar­ket­ing mod­els for ma­na­gerial de­cision sup­port. To serve the needs of our in­dustry part­ners and in­ter­ested policy makers, we try to main­tain a bal­ance of basic and ap­plied re­search.

Our stu­dents are seek­ing re­search-driven course con­tent and wish to ac­quire hard skills in mar­ket­ing re­search, busi­ness ana­lyt­ics, and de­cision mak­ing. Our prac­tice-ori­ented and ex­per­i­en­tial teach­ing formats en­sure that stu­dents ac­quire the qual­i­fic­a­tions they need to trans­late their skills into ef­fect­ive mar­ket­ing pro­grams.
