Bio­graph­ical Sketch

Se­bastian Vith is Teach­ing and Re­search As­so­ci­ate at the In­sti­tute for Pub­lic Man­age­ment and Gov­ernance at WU Vi­enna Uni­versity of Eco­nom­ics and Busi­ness since May 2016. He holds a Mas­ter's de­gree in So­cial and Polit­ical The­ory (MA, 2012) and a Mas­ter’s de­gree in Or­gan­iz­a­tion Stud­ies (MSc, 2013) from the Uni­versity of Inns­bruck. Prior to that he con­duc­ted his un­der­gradu­ate stud­ies in Busi­ness Ad­min­is­tra­tion at Vor­arl­berg Uni­versity of Ap­plied Sciences (BA, 2009) and was ex­change stu­dent at Uni­versity of Liege HEC Man­age­ment School. In 2014 he re­ceived an Ex­ec­ut­ive Cer­ti­fic­ate in In­nov­a­tion, Pro­duct & Pro­cess Man­age­ment from Man­age­ment Center Inns­bruck.

From fall 2012 until spring 2016 Se­bastian Vith gained in­sights into vari­ous private and pub­lic sector or­gan­iz­a­tions. First as a con­sult­ant and trainer for in­nov­a­tion man­age­ment and later on as an ex­pert for new busi­ness devel­op­ment at a pub­licly owned en­ergy sup­plier. Be­sides this, he was lec­turer at the De­part­ment of Or­gan­iz­a­tion and Learn­ing at the Uni­versity of Inns­bruck.

Se­bastian Vith is mem­ber of the European Group for Or­gan­iz­a­tional Stud­ies (EGOS) and the Aus­trian So­ci­olo­gical As­so­ci­ation (OeGS).

Re­search In­terests

Se­bastian Vith’s re­search in­terests are centered on forms of or­gan­iz­ing and gov­ernance – both in the pub­lic and private sector. He is in­ter­ested in dis­course and prac­tices in fields like in­nov­a­tion man­age­ment, hu­man re­source man­age­ment and or­gan­iz­a­tional change. Just re­cently he star­ted in­vest­ig­at­ing the col­lab­or­at­ive or so called shar­ing economy.
