Legalization and Translation: Iran

Legalization guidelines

Your documents and their translations require full legalization because no relevant bilateral agreements are currently in place with Iran.

Please note:

  • We will accept copies of your original documents, but you have to present the original documents in addition

  • The legalization must be attached to the original translation

  • After the legalization process in the issuing country, your documents must also be legalized by the appropriate Austrian representative authorityin in Iran

Required procedure:

  1. Translation of the original

  2. Legalization by the Department of official Translators Affairs of the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran

  3. Additional legalization by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Iran

  4. Completion of the legalization process by the appropriate Austrian embassy Iran

Translation guidelines

You can present your documents either in German or in English. If the documents were issued in a language other than German or English, they have to be translated by an officially certified court interpreter.

Please note:

  • The translation must be permanently attached to copies of the original document by the interpreter

  • The legalization must be placed on the original translation
