Consultation on Appointment

Alexander Kaiser studied Economics and Computer Science at the University of Vienna. After finishing his main study (Economics and Computer Science, with honors), he worked for almost two years at Siemens Österreich in the group of organisation development and information technology. He left this position for a position as research and teaching assistant at the Institute of Information Business at the University of Economics and Business. He finished a doctoral study program at the Vienna University of Economics and Business with honors and started with his habilitation, which he finished in December 1999. For this work he received two awards, the “Kardinal Innitzer Förderungspreis” and the “Senator Wilhelm Wilfling Förderungspreis”.

Since March 2000 he is associated professor at the Institute of Information Business. Furthermore Dr. Kaiser has finished a certified coaching training program in the field of systemic-constructivist coaching and a certified professional coaching training program in the field of systemic-analytic coaching and is the founder and head of WaVe – center for vocation coaching.

At the University of Economics and Business he is the head of the research group “knowledge-based management” (wu.ac.at/kbm)

Through his academic occupation and education and his varied practical experiences he had the chance to gain a broad knowledge base in diverse fields like economics, knowledge-based management, information retrieval and databases, as well as coaching and facilitating. This enabled him to build up a network of miscellaneous research colleagues and industrial partners and to carry out interdisciplinary research by linking the field of knowledge-based management with the fields of coaching and facilitating.

His vision is to combine theory and practice by linking the fields of knowledge-based management and coaching and so helping to utilize existing knowledge in systems more effectively as well as to generate new knowledge.
