Guest Talk: Using event log knowledge to support business process simulation model construction
Date/Time: 09.06.2016, 12:00
Business process simulation (BPS) refers to the imitation of business process behavior through the use of a simulation model. In my research, I developed some techniques to support the construction of a business process simulation model using event logs. More specifically, I focus on entity arrival, the phenomenon of batch processing and resource schedules. In this talk, I will give an overview of my work on these topics. Moreover, I will sketch the research challenges ahead. It is useful to know that the developed techniques can also be useful to support business process modeling in general.
Niels Martin (University of Hasselt, Belgium) is in the last year of his PhD studies and will talk about his research.
