You have great ideas and want to prove your crea­ti­vity? You want to be part of an entre­pre­neu­rial endeavor and have just waited for the right moment? You are inte­rested in Open Data? Now is your time!

4th of March 2017 is the *World Open Data Day* [1]. In prepa­ra­tion to this event, Austria and Vienna will host a number of events related to Open Data! [2]

Univer­si­ties in Austria, in parti­cular, WU Vienna and TU Vienna will join this event by crea­ting and imple­men­ting inno­vatve ideas of what can be done with Open Data in Austria as part of the 2nd ODea­tion work­shop, where students in inter­di­sci­pli­nary groups shall use Open inno­va­tion skills as well as Programming skills to co-create inte­res­ting new projects from Open Data from the data on Austria's Open Data portals



The Institut für Infor­ma­ti­ons­wirt­schaft an der WU Wien, the Insti­tute of Stra­tegy, Tech­no­logy, and Orga­niza­tion at WU Vienna as well as the Linked Data Lab at TU Vienna will offer an work­shop on Open Data and Inno­va­tion on March 3rd at the Vienna Univer­sity of Econo­mics and Busi­ness.

Preli­mi­nary program

  • 9-10 am: Welcome session and intro­duc­tion to Open Data and Open Inno­va­tion

  • 10-11 am: Two parallel work­shops:

    • Data work­shop: How to deal with Open Data?

    • Crea­ti­vity work­shop: How to develop great ideas with impact?

  • 1-3 pm: Deve­lop­ment of ideas for the Austri­an-­wide "Open Data Day Hacka­thon"
    (we are currently orga­ni­zing also other univer­sti­ties to join!)

After the work­shop, we will jointly join the other events of the Open Data day, cf. [2]
