SBWL IMC Practitioner Talk & Informal Get-Together 17.10.2019
On 17.10.2019 at 17:00, TC.3.01 our institute will host Practitioner Talks followed by an informal Get-Together for which we in particular invite students attending our SBWL. This time, we are pleased to have two guest speakers that will share their expertise and experience related to current topics and challenges in IS Management and Control. After the talks, we provide a stimulating and relaxed environment to discuss related issues and openly ask questions. This is also a great opportunity to gather valuable insights into possible career options. Below, we provide the Agenda for the day followed by the two presentation topics and a short Bio of the guest speakers.

Topic 1 – Inside IT & Operations in a Global Bank
Speaker: Christoph Auer
Senior Vice President of Technology & Operations and Managing Director of Santander Consumer Bank Austria
Dr. Auer has been Senior VP of Technology & Operations and Managing Director of Santander Consumer Bank Austria since 2014. Until September 2019, he was also responsible for Finance, Risk Management and Technology & Operations on the Bank's Executive Board. Prior to that, he held various management positions at the Porsche Bank Group (subsidiary of Volkswagen AG) from 2004 to 2014. Other professional stations included Volkswagen do Brasil, Evolaris next level Consulting and Merkur Versicherung AG. Born in Salzburg, he studied industrial engineering and mechanical engineering at Graz University of Technology and the University of Bristol (GB). He then completed his doctorate in economics at the Karl Franzens University in Graz and at the UBC in Vancouver (Canada).
Topic 2 – Strategic Transformation of IT Services: The Role of Robotic Process Automation
Speaker: Nico Tomsich
Manager at PWC Austria, Technology Consulting
Nico Tomsich was working as an SAP B1 Project manager in international implementations and rollouts. Until September 2019, he was leading a team of specialists at Deloitte Austria in the area of business process automation. Currently, he is involved on technology consulting at PWC Austria focusing on robotic process automation. He is a WU graduate having completed his Bachelor program in Business Informatics and his Master in Information Systems. In addition, he holds various certifications related to the Management of IT, Business Processes and Innovation, and is currently pursuing an MBA in the Danube University Krems.
