Research areas at the Institute for Ecconomic Geography and GIScience (WGI)
The Institute aimes to produce research of the highest quality. The focus of our research activities is not exclusively in the field of economic geography, but transdisciplinary in nature, crossing the boundaries to economics, business economics and applied informatics, so as to bring education within the WU in line with the international topics, theories and methods in economic geography and GIScience.
In recent years, the Institute for Ecconomic Geography and GIScience has specialised in two research areas:
