WU Center of Excellence

„The Center of Excellence is not a physical venue but a place of intellectual discourse” (Oskar Grün 1989)

The Center of Excellence (CoE) was launched in 1989 by the Professors’ Association of the Vienna University of Economics and Business. It is a permanent Honors Program intended to encourage and support high potential and high performance students.

The CoE is a network of students, corporate partners, nonprofit organizations and academic mentors: The ideas and resources flowing from and between these different organizations allow independent, distinctive groups to form, bound together by the common values of CoE.

The CoE concept has proven itself well over the years: To date, over 1400 students have been able to profit from the opportunities offered by CoE. The 39 CoE groups are supported by some 22 companies, over 20 professors, 40 assistants and administrative staff members (for details in German, please click here).
