Study acceleration program

The study acceleration program is offered in September in the course of the „Summer University“ and in February in the course of the „Winter University“. If the Senate decides on Easter holidays of a minimum duration of 3 weeks, there is an „Easter University“ as well.

Dates and deadlines

Objectives of the acceleration program:

• an opportunity for students to make the best use of the lecture-free period
• avoiding delays, thus earlier completion of studies
• making use of the university's room capacities during holidays
• offering block courses for students with a full time or part time job

Courses are organised on a short-term basis. The course offer depends on demand, i.e. courses that were fully booked during the semester and are in high demand are offered within the framework of the acceleration program. Regarding content, the focus is on courses in General Business Administration, Law and Economics.

Summer university

Summer university takes place every year in September. WU students are thus enabled to attend courses in the holidays. Most courses are block courses taking only several days or weeks. The examinations for the courses are usually scheduled for the first examination week in winter semester (in the beginning of October).

Some summer university courses are accessible for students in their first semester ("Early Birds"). They can thus make a head start in the holidays. Courses for "early birds" are marked as such in the electronic university calendar (eVVZ). Summer university courses can be found in the university calendar of the corresponding summer semester in the chapter „Acceleration program“.

Registration for courses and exams is online via the Class and examination information system (LPIS). Registration for exams is separate from registration for courses. If you want to write the exam, you have to register for it beforehand!
