WU’s goal is to become one of Europe’s leading universities in business and economics education and research, with an international perspective and a global reach.
WU’s internationalization strategy is based on:
· International orientation
· International mobility
· International infrastructure
International orientation includes all of WU’s internationally relevant profile development activities such as accreditations and rankings, as well as conscious efforts to increase the number of faculty members with international backgrounds. An internationally compatible branding concept and the establishment and support of core competences in international issues are additional key factors.
Mobility, as one of the most important aspects of
internationalizations, should be encouraged at all academic levels
(undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate, as well as staff and faculty). Joint
and double degrees and a focus on the internationalization of course syllabi
are also effective ways of promoting academic mobility.
These goals can only be reached with the help of an internationalized infrastructure. Financial support for strategically important internationalization activities is one aspect, further activities include improved quality control systems for academic programs and increasing professionalism in the various WU service facilities. In addition, WU is working hard to realize the vision of a completely bilingual campus, with all signage and important information available in both German and English. WU’s goal is to become one of Europe’s leading universities in business and economics education and research, with an international perspective and a global reach.
