Danièle Moyal-Sharrock's
publications focus on Wittgenstein and what she calls 'the third Wittgenstein'
(the post-Investigations corpus). In her writings she has argued against
Therapeutic and Ineffabilist readings of Wittgenstein’s works as
self-repudiating. She has also tried to show that, in Wittgenstein's view,
nonsense is primarily a technically descriptive, not defamatory, qualification
and is not indicative of Wittgenstein rejecting or disavowing his own framework
'propositions'.

EN: Vienna Workshop on Sustainable Development for Doctoral Students
The
institute for the Environment and Regional Development is hosting a Workshop on
Sustainable Development in November 2011. The workshop is run by and for doctoral
students. The idea is to provide students in Vienna with the opportunity to
meet other students locally who work on similar topics as well as to provide a
forum for them to present their work among peers and get feedback on it.

Internationales Wittgenstein Centre Symposium im Parlament
Anfang 2011 hat das „Wittgenstein Centre for Demography and Global
Human Capital“ seine Arbeit begonnen. WU, ÖAW (Österreichische Akademie der
Wissenschaften) und IIASA (International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis)
bündeln darin ihre Forschungsaktivitäten.
Am Donnerstag, den 29. September, lädt das Wittgenstein Centre zum internationalen Symposium „Demography, Education and Democracy – Refocusing Global Development Priorities“.
