Is there an age limit for applicants? No, there is no age limit.

I am not from Austria, nor from the EU. Can I apply? Yes, you can. Master Program in Quantitative Finance is a program with a strong international orientation.

I already have a 'Magister’-degree. Can I apply for the Master Program? Yes, you can apply if you have completed a ‘Diplomstudium’.

What documents do I need to submit with online application? Please find the complete lust of required documents on the WU Admission Page, as well as translation regulations for documents issued in a language
other than German or English.

Do my documents need to be submitted in PDF format? Yes. Documents in a different format will not be
accepted. Please also ensure that the submitted document scans are legible.

Do I really need to submit information about the
legally required duration and the
required number of ECTS credits (or weekly hours) of my relevant first degree program? Yes, this
information is absolutely necessary! Using this data WU evaluates if you qulification is sufficient in order to complete the requirements. Please
note that the legally required duration of the program and the time it
took you to complete the program can-but-must-not be equivalent.

My university/my country does not use the European
Credit Transfer System (ECTS) and therefore is not able to
list ECTS credits in my transcript. Should I try to convert the credit
or (weekly) hours into ECTS? No. Please
do not try to convert any units in your transcript into ECTS credits
by yourself. List the hours or credits as stated in your transcript. The
conversion will be carried out at our Admission Office, using the submitted information about full duration of your
program, overall workload and
workload for each single course in (weekly) hours or in other credits.

I forgot to upload some documents. Can I email the missing ones? No.
All documents have to be uploaded using the online application tool.
Documents sent via email will not be accepted. Please check if all
necessary documents were uploaded before submitting your online
application. Note that the maximum size for each uploaded PDF is 2 MB.

I do not yet have the necessary amount of ECTS credits in specific fields, but I will by the end of the current/next semster. Can I
apply? No. The prerequisites need to be fulfilled at the time of submission of the online application.

I have substantial practical experience in one/several specified fields. Can I substitute part of the required ECTS as a consequence? No, unfortunately this is not possible.

How many letters of recommendation can I submit? As many as you like.
|

Who can write a letter of recommendation? A
course teacher, an advisor or supervisor of an academic thesis or the
educational institution at which the course was attended or the academic
thesis was written.

Is there a mandatory form for the letter of recommendation? No, we do not have a special template for the letters of recommendation.
|
|

|
|

Should I submit a video/letter of motivation with my online application? No, there is no need to send additional records/data besides of required documents.
|

What should I do if I have none of the listed English certificates? You
can still take one of these tests or you can submit other equivalent
certificate that proves your English proficiency. Note that scores need
to be available at the time of application.

What is the GMAT Test? Please visit the official GMAT Web Site to find out more information about it.
|
|

|
|

What should I do if I do if I have not taken a GMAT? You
can submit the result of an equivalent standard test or letters of
recommendation with your application. Note that your GMAT score has to
be available at the time of application if you are listing it to prove
your achievement potential.

Do I have to pay an application fee? No, you do not need to pay any application fee.
|
|
| |
|
|

Will graduates of ”Fachhochschulen”
(university of applied sciences) be at a disadvantage relative to
applicants with a bachelor degree from an university? No. Every application fulfilling the formal application criteria will be assessed in the same way.

Will a personal interview take place? No. During the selection procedure the applicants’ aptitude for the program
will be assessed by a panel of experts, based on the written
applications.

What are the selection criteria for admission into the program?

When and how will I find out whether or not my application has been accepted? All applicants will be notified. See notification time slots according to the time of your application.
|

Why should I pay for an admission if the application has been said to be without any fee? It is not the pay for admission — it is an admission deposit, which will be reimbursed when you arrive in Vienna.
|
|
| |
|
|
| |
If I am already accepted, why should I pay the deposit? Along with the notification you will receive an admission offer. To claim your place in the program, you must confirm the offer in writing and by paying the admission deposit within 10 days. Without confirmation and deposit payment the offer considered rejected after 10 days and goes to the next candidate on the waiting list.

Do I have to pay tuition fees? How
much tuition you have to pay depends on your citizenship. Please visit the WU Admission Page for detailed information.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

Where can I find detailed course descriptions? The
exact course contents are subject to change from one semester to the
other. Detailed course descriptions
far in advance is thus not available, but the description of the past and current semester classes is available in the online catalogue eVVZ.

Where can I find a course timetable? The online class catalogue eVVZ provides the most up-to-day timetable. To find the classes of the first year of program, write the "Y1" into the "Class Title" line, for the classes of the second year — "Y2". Overview of classes is also published at the semester start on the program page.

What types of examination have I to expect? All classes are of type PI — abbr. of “prüfungsimmanent”, — which means that there is a continuous assessment of student performance.
|

|
|

Will all classes be held in English? Yes.
|
|
| |
|
|
| |
Is it compulsory to attend lectures? Yes. The Master Program in Quantitative Finance is a full-time degree program.
