The master program in Economics at WU offers students
numerous opportunities to customize their education through specialization
areas. After the first semester (principles of economics: microeconomics,
macroeconomics, methods), students have to choose
some compulsory courses but can also choose
from ten areas of specialization:
Labor and Organizational Economics; Industrial Organization; International
Economics; Money, Credit and Finance; Public Sector Economics; Economics of
Distribution; Economic Development; Spatial Economics; Regulatory Economics; and
Economic and Social Policy.
Within the program, students can choose to focus either on applied
economics or mathematical economics.
A final master thesis on an economic topic gives students the opportunity to
work independently using academic research methods.
After successful completion of the program, graduates are granted the academic title Master of Science (WU), abbreviated as MSc(WU).
