Inter-Library Loan

General Information

Books that are not available at WU or any other university library in Vienna may be ordered from other libraries as inter-library loans. Journals are not available for inter-library loan, but copies of individual articles can be requested. Please contact our Document Delivery Service.

Before Ordering

Make sure that the book is not available at any Viennese university library. Search the library catalog Austrian Union Catalog.

Charges

Loans within Austria are subject to a charge of € 2 per book, while loans from outside Austria cost a minimum of  € 9,45 per book, depending on the charges of the issuing library.

Requesting Inter-library Loans

Inter-library loans can be requested online. For this purpose, use the web form available on the library catalog page. You will be notified when the book arrives. Allow for a delivery time of at least two weeks. Books on inter-library loan are kept behind the circulation desk and can be used in the reading room only. For inter-library loans,  the regulations of the issuing library apply, meaning that the length of the loan period may vary.
